The Microelectronics Agenda – Micro.electronics: for a Better Future brings together a consortium of 17 partners and is aligned with the European Union’s semiconductor initiatives, namely the Important Project of Common European Interest on Microelectronics (IPCEI ME) and the European Chips Act.
This initiative aims to unlock the full potential of the semiconductor industry by addressing systemic challenges affecting the European microelectronics sector. It seeks to strengthen production capacity and enhance competitiveness in microelectronics through advanced packaging, the industrialization of products based on integrated photonic circuits, next-generation high-speed access networks, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Furthermore, the Agenda aims to position Portugal at the forefront of semiconductor management, manufacturing, distribution, and recycling, contributing to a resilient semiconductor supply chain capable of meeting the needs of Europe and global markets.
